The company

Travis Perkins have been supplying building materials to the trade for over 200 years and are now one of the largest suppliers to the UK’s building and construction industry with a national network of more than 600 branches.

The challenge

To immediately recruit six contract Email Migration Engineers on a contract basis to form a project team responsible for moving Travis Perkins’ email systems from Microsoft Exchange over to Google Apps.

The solution

Initially, the roles were passed to HR and the agencies on the company’s PSL. However, after several weeks the roles had not been filled and as a result, GCS were asked to recruit for the roles.  With vast experience in placing in these niche positions, GCS was able to immediately identify suitably skilled professionals that resulted in four of the six positions being filled within a week. This success then led to GCS being asked to source a Testing Configuration Manager for Travis Perkins – again GCS were able to fill the role within a week.
