11 Reasons GCS is a Great Place to Grow Your Career

One of the most frequent questions I get asked is “what makes GCS a great place to work?”

I’ve worked in the recruitment industry for over 10 years across three different businesses, and in that time I’ve seen many different ideas on what makes a company a great place to work, and witnessed the effects on staff’s wellbeing and happiness.

With that in mind, here’s my list of what I believe makes GCS a great place to grow your career in recruitment, some of which you’ve no doubt heard before, but the reasons behind the titles demonstrate why GCS is attracting and retaining such great people.

The people: The people are ultimately what makes a company, and we have people from all walks of life joining GCS and forging a successful career here. We encourage an open-desk policy to allow our teams to have exposure to everybody in the business, and there’s also a no-door policy, meaning none of our managers, directors or even our chairman have their own office!

Money: GCS offers one of the best commission schemes in the industry, rewarding success by offering a higher commission rate for bigger deals, but also rewarding less experienced staff with bonuses for targets hit. There’s no caps and no thresholds at GCS, meaning you will start earning commission as soon as you bill.

Incentives: Ibiza, Las Vegas, Dubai – these are just some of the all-expenses-paid overseas holiday incentives we offer every year for all of our target hitters. Aside from our main holiday incentives, we also offer many other rewards for target hitters – high achievers lunches at some of the best restaurants in London, Breakfast club for our top performers, on-track bonuses of up to £1,300 for our consultants. In terms of rewarding your hard work at GCS, the list is (almost) endless.

Overseas opportunities: We are a global company with 4 offices across the UK, USA and Ireland. This means there are plenty of opportunities to move and work abroad, which GCS will help you with through our guidance, financial support and taking care of any legalities and logistics. We have already had 3 of our UK consultants move and start a new life in New York, and our entire Irish team was originally based in London!

Growth plans: Our recent expansions created opportunity for people we already had in the business. Further plans to expand into Europe mean more opportunities to work abroad, so if you are thinking about a career in recruitment, you could end up doing it in the city of your dreams.

But we don’t stop at juniors – The Academy is a company-wide training scheme that continues to guide you through your career all the way through management and up to director level.
